Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana. The first one is a short, slow-moving with constantly smiling eyes. The second one – the direct opposite of the first: tall, thin, brown-eyed, and very, very talkative.
Perhaps you`ve already understood that today I`m going to tell you about one of the most famous fashion houses Dolce & Gabbana and its creators.
Domenico was born in Palermo, Sicily’s capital. We can hardly talk about his family as rich – though his father was the manager of a small garment factory. Future designer refused to continue the family matters, left University after the first year (dear readers, do not rush to drop out your universities !!!) and went for knowledge to art school. Well, after was of course Milan;)
In the beginning I wrote that Stefano is Domenico`s complete opposition. There is no exaggeration. The designer was born in Milan, in a quite wealthy family, and since the early years he was a real man of fashion, he finished his studies from the first time, acquire a profession of creative director.
Future partners met in a studio in Milan in the early ’80s. And even now, almost 40 years after that, they continue to excite the aesthetic tastes and stellar Olympic fashion.
A lot of celebrities are their admirers- Madonna, Monica Bellucci, Kylie Minogue, Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Demi Moore, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lopez, Victoria Beckhami and many, many others.
State briefly, we can describe the style of the Italian fashion house in three words – Italy, retro movies and Baroque.
Let`s remember at least their beautiful advertising campaigns:
- autumn 2013 – the topic – the frescoes of the Italian churches, lace dresses, coats, jersey, Italian history;
- Spring-Summer 2014 –the story of Sicily and Greece was taken as a basis for their collection;
- Autumn-Winter 2014/15 – collection was created in the spirit of the forest fairies and traditional Sicilian colorists;
It was an incredibly beautiful advertising video with Martin Scorsese and Scarlett Johansson in the lead roles.
By the way, Dolce & Gabbana gave the world leopard colors, a black dress-bustier.
Oh, those Italians !!! 😉
That`s why I`ve chosen such clothes for today’s “look” – charming skirt in peas and a beautiful bag from Dolce & Gabbana –I give my due to genius of the fashion world.
